North County Report

Snuck out this past weekend for a quick session in the PA14. Kelp seemed to be kind of sparse, water temp was 75. Trolled around some plastics and got lucky with the occasional bass. All together had a great little morning and ended up with a nice tally of shorts and a couple grumpers over 3# that were all released to fight again. One little pocket kicked out 7 little seabass in about 20 minutes and I've got to say that was a first for me seeing so many at once. Also while cruising along I came across a huge moth floating on his back, when I picked him up he came to life. Cool looking bug, chilled on my boat and stayed with me back to the beach. Set him on a bush somewhere and I think he lived on.

Where did you launch? Looking for a good spot in North County. I have previously launched out of Seaside in Encinitas, but the surf seems unpredictable there. Thanks!

Really dig you guys with the respect for all life! I'm the dummy who will catch the spider for the wife and take it all the way down stairs to let it go outside. Great karma! Just kill what you can eat and release the rest to play another day!
