Haven't targeted in a few years. Prior to the red crab invasion I had my best days using 1-1.5 oz yellow warbait with a skirt and a 5" green BH. Head into the thickest kelp you can find then drop, retrieve, move, repeat.

I've had recent luck with a weedless jig head and big hammer swimbait. Now if they were only larger..

IMO it's hard to fish lmb from the yak! Maybe in a hobie not so bad. Just saying.
