way to break off that skunk! i have also started making my own sabikis, and it does give you a more complete sense of being an angler... especially when you can't fish or aren't catching targets... your sabikis are looking pretty sharp!

Hey Ken,
I've been using a few different materials, but here is a little rundown on one type. I use a knotting cord that is pretty iridescent. ![]() I also use holographic ribbon. ![]() Both the knotting cord and holographic ribbon were purchased at Michaels. I combine the two and wrap the hook. ![]() Once bound, I fray the knotting cord with a hook and trim the holographic ribbon to length and desired angle. ![]() Then I apply a pigmented base coat, usually with red nail polish or varnish. ![]() Then I apply a final coat with a clear iridescent nail polish or varnish. ![]() Once dry, I tie everything together. Hope this helps. |
