I've only been out in LJ twice so far in '16. Kelp was down both times. Current plays a big part but El Nino conditions are hard on kelp. The warm water weakens the kelp then the large winter swell tear the weak end plants apart. I recall in past el ninos the small kelp beds in north county off Terra mar, tamarack beach, and the army n navy academy vanished. Mike

I saw the kelp slowly decay as the water temp went up, I was hoping it had returned. Thanks again.
