Learn from others' success and regrets. I've read (Team Sewers?), "find something you cannot afford and get that one." I agree. My mistake as a NOOB? I bought an Elite 4x CHIRP with 83/200 transducer and no GPS.
If I were to buy today? Learn from my mistakes: 1) GPS is a must 2) Get the 50/200 transducer if you plan to fish LJ or similar 3) A screen larger than the 4X would be nice...but the above two are a must IMO Good luck! |

Ultra light
If you are trying to keep weight down go with the 4 . If budget allows 5" inch is great . If you have a pro angler 7 inch is nice , I have yet to see a 9 mounted . Maybe next year I will try it ?

Yes, HDS models with the 50/200 transducer will fit. Now the elite chirp transducers, I don't think will fit, unless modified, also the HDS gen 3 chirp models will not fit unless cut down or modified, as far as I know.
