I saw the Malihini was 80 feet but wasn't able to find the size of the Mission Belle. I'm assuming its smaller because capacity is only 42 compared to 51?

Malahini all the way. Crew are obsessed with YT fishing, they fish for YT in the morning and if no hookups take a break to rockfish to quickly get fish count up and then high tail it back to YT fishing. They are my preferred 3/4 day from San Diego Bay

Both crews are great, with the edge going to the Mission Belle. Also, the Belle will give you a better ride as its profile is wider and lower to the water. The mahilini is high and skinny and rocks side to side pretty good even on a smooth day. On a different note, if you want to chuck iron, go on the Mahilini, the bow is a iron chucker's paradise!
You're not going to be disappointed with either. |

Hmm... I am hoping to go after yellowtail but I definitely like the idea of a more stable boat seeing as the last boat I went on I got sick. Was planning on pounding Bonine in preparation for the trip, ha.

I'm planning on going on Sunday, final decision will be made Sat night after reviewing their catches for the week. This run of good weather will bring the yellowtail back on the chew

I would check the landing counts up until the day before.
If the skipper did well one day, he has a pretty good idea where to look the next day. But I like the Mission Belle. Absent any info about recent landing counts, I would go with them.
