Vaquita

Source needed. 1 june while down at our place I saw for the second time in 2 years a Vaquita. Less than 100 are thought to still exist in the world, they only live in the upper sea of Cortez.

The help I need is to find out WHO to report these sightings to. I know someone is collecting this data but not who or where. The reason to report is that both sightings were in May or early June. There was a pup and mother the 1st time. This time only a sub adult maybe 40-45" long. I looked online but could not find where to report. Seeing the sightings were made outside the reported range thus out of the protected zone it might be important.

The San Felipe area was CLOSED to commercial net fishing earlier this spring all the way to Puertecitos, supposedly for 2 years. If anyone on BWE can point me to someone who can help, I thank you. Tight lines.

Why the hell is it always demand from china killing off endangered species. And why hasn't the world figured out a way to stop those bastards from trying to finish off seemingly every endangered species. If they need tiger balls and totoaba bladder so bad, maybe they should figure out a way to help restore these species or farm them instead of trying to be the guy who gets to eat the last one. Thank goodness for the conservation we have in this country, it may not be perfect but it usually works. I hope we as a species can do better and see the future over short term gain. Imagine if we could restore totoaba to historic levels?(it won't happen unless we restore the colorado's flows) What an amazing fishery that would be people would come from all over the world for a shot at a trophy like that growing the local economy.
Rant overto poachers of any species, endangered or not.
