Jackies new ride

2010 model, Strip down to nothing and "textured to hell" but for $200 I couldn't pass it up. Can't wait till its done and Jackie gets her first solo ride!

Nice. Saw that for sale and seems very suspicious.
What was the story from the seller?

He was out surfing, I got it for 200. The story I got was he used everything off of it to rebuild a tandem. With the condition of the boat that I found it in I don't blame him but I will rebuild it and it will be the beater that I abuse! Or I guess I should say Jackie gets to abuse the hell out of her.

looks like a warranty hull replacement, if so the dealer's responsible to return it to Hobie or cut out the serial number and destroy the hull. Be careful that it does not sink!

Thanks Andy, I've had it in the pool all day and yes there is a small leak in the Mirage drive area. Nothing major but I will be taking it to a dealer tomorrow to see what I can do. With it being a five-year-old kayak will they still do a warranty replacement?

Is the serial number even still on the kayak? Usually they cut it out..

Since it's probably a warranty replacement I doubt hobie will replace the same hull twice ...

Interested in finding out what happens. Have the dealer or call hobie and see if it qualifies for replacement. I'm sure they keep track of replacements using the serial numbers so should be easy to find it.

Keep us posted.

After the 2 year warranty is up Hobie Pro rates the cost of replacement. This could still be a warranty replacement hull, I have a few hanging around here. I drill big holes in mine until I return them to Hobie, so they don't get stolen.

Jackies new new ride

A huge thank you goes out to Andy for hooking Jackie and me up. She will now be writing a 2014 will be outback which I took out today for a test run. So much faster than my xfactor! She happened to be in Vegas and stopped by bass pro shops and found an elite4 chirp for 170! Shes going to be riding better than I am for sure! I am definitely looking into the plastic welder with the plastic feed head, I might as well screw around and try and fix the olive outback for myself. However I am building a fleet of kayaks, how many is too many? Four?
