I was at discover baja today. The FMM is 28 dollars but they were sold out. They get them in every week though.

I would get yours asap as they sold over 100 yesterday!

Not sure why there is such a big surge now for traveling down there but they said that the Guadalupe wine valley is a big attraction now.

The way it works is that you pay in advance and then you get it stamped at the border. If going through the West entrance in Mexicali you enter and the office is on the left.

Discover Baja has a great deal on insurance for a 90 day policy.

You can use those 90 days anytime for a 365 day period.

With liability only coverage it is only 100 dollars.

Jeff, as I understand it the FMM is good for 6 months for reentry. You just need to get it stamped for the 1st crossing into Mexico. Tight lines.

Mahigeer,

They ran out of the FMM's at Discover Baja. They never run out of them at the border.

If you join discover baja they will sell you a prepaid FMM and then you will only have to get it stamped at the border.

If you do it at the border please REMEMBER your glasses, the printing is SMALL and hard to read. Only takes a minute to fill out IF you can read it. Been there, done that. Tight lines.

Lol. The border official had to read mine to me and tell me what to fill out because the print was so small. Bob's not joking about the tiny print.

The last two times I got my FMM (Two months ago in TJ and last week in Mexicali) the border official filled the form out for me. They just take your passport and fill it out without being asked to do so. Not sure if this is something new. Maybe they have too many blind tourist crossing the border.

While many people and boaters do not follow, the letter of the law states thar the FMM is good d for r 180 days but only a single entry. The previous rule to turn in or mail in the FMM after use is no longer in affect.

Why did you get your FMM two months ago and then last week?

I thought you would just get one FMM for 6 months?

Thanks for the tip; but I don't feel comfortable putting my passport and CC information on line via a scan and Email.
