It's not any smoother to he left it's just the way the camera is set up. It angles across the launch, so when one get close to he water they walk out of the frame, especially at low tide.
okay, it's too bad because I think it would be entertaining to see some of the launches. I've also noticed that when the camera is in IR mode there is something to the left of the screen, it might be a spider web. I keep looking for it in normal mode but it isn't there.
