Several of us will launch Sunday in front of the power plant area. You are welcome to tag along if you'd like.

Sometime between 6:00-6:30 in the morning

Can hobie wheels navigate to the water? I am too old to tote my outback down the cliffs.

I'll be there Friday and Sunday. Launch in front of the powerplant or the lagoon. I prefer launching in front of the lagoon. Just look for the openings in the seawall and park right next to one. Drop your kayak right off on the sand and unload your gear and drag your yak like 100 yards across the sand to the water. It's probably like 200 yards more paddling but way easier.

9-18 Carlsbad Report

No fish today. Launched around 7 to mid size waves. Timed them well and made it out with no probs. Could only make 1 mac and 1 large smelt but that is all that was required as no hook ups or bites. Off the water by 1. Ended up fishing with Matt and his friend. They were nice enough to help me get my yak off and on my car. Launched south of the warm water jetty. All 3 of us struck out today but there is always tomorrow. Good luck to all who fish this area over the next several days. Post up your reports. It really helps when trying to decide where to fish. The ocean is pretty darn big and can handle the yakers who read these reports. Tight lines and blessings to all.
