Gulp shrimp, jerk shad, swimming mullet all work well. Dropshot, carolina rig or on a 1/4-3/8 lead. Wams....my favorite again

small swimbaits like Big Hammers in greens/blues,whites and browns in 3" to 5 " leadheads from 1/4 to 1/2 deep diving crank baits like Fat Free Shad, shad raps in perch or crawdad 3/4oz + white or chartreuse spinner baits........some of my favorites.

Ghost shrimp work great, catching smelt, buying a $5 scoop of sardines. #2 hook 1/2-2 oz lead, trap rigged or not. 4 pound line to 40 depending on how I feel.

Check out BWE's current gulpman, and former plasticman and ironman contest threads.

You never can go wrong with some big hammers & leadheads, and crocodile or kastmaster lures. They've always been helpful to me.

The chartreuse grub with a leadhead especially for bay bass has almost never failed me.

Los Alamitos /Long Beach. I also want to thank you guys for all the input .very valuable help, I would hate to make the 40 mile trip not prepare so thx for all the help.

Watch the tides. A strong incoming tide always works best for me.
