Crystal cove saturday 6/27

Launched at the coast guard station. Bait barge didn't have anchovies. Oh well I brought shrimp and cut squid. Caught a bunch of fish kept one sheephead for dinner. I caught a couple calicos on a surface iron which was really fun because everytime they blew up on it like a largemouth on a frog.

Once it reached high tide around 8 the bite shut off. I hung around a little longer only managing a few more fish. Then I went back to the harbor and was able to catch a few smelt for bait. I caught a 10-12 inch Halibut on one of the smelt then I couldn't catch anymore bait so I called it a day.

The one I kept was about 16 inches. Pretty decent one. Caught a few more that were smaller
