Shopping for a Handheld VHF, any advise? - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

I did notice that the "West Marine Brand" stated a different waterproof standard (jis-7 and jis-8), as opposed to the IPX-7 standard, and were not floaters.

I got it narrowed down to the Icom M34, or Standard Horizon HX750S.
Both of these float.

I like Icom. My SH blew up pretty quickly.

Icom M-34, I use it on my Yak and in my ditch bag on the boat.

Yup, thats what I bought this afternoon the Icom M-34.
They have a $10 rebate on the radio going on now, and the nice lady gave me 10% off as well.

It comes wit a 3 year warranty and I added 2 more for cheap money.
