This year I personally plan to do the trip to the island, I hope this is that trip. So, Wally, John. Sven, Captblood and friend plus Makobob, still room for a couple more anglers.. Trip leaves 24 June, returns when we decide. Water should be warm and fishing good to great. Two of these guys have made the trip to the ISLAND and weather should be good with lower winds. So far Hobies rule this crossing. 4.8 miles from our beach to the island, round trip with fishing will be in the 12-15 mile range. To join Wally, Sven and Jim on the list of those who have crossed you need to join a Gonzaga trip. There are big grouper at the island but you will loose a ton of gear, just ask Jim. 50 lb gear should be the LIGHTEST you consider for grouper. Jim, Tony, mike can all verify these fish are tough on a kayak. USUALLY instant rock!!! Yt should be available along with all the normal species. The inner rubble reefs should produce 100 fish per person if you target bass and triggers. Water temps should be high and roosters could be in the area. We got them in August last year but we were not there last June, but neighbor said he saw some in June. Tight lines.

MakoBob,

June 2014 in the Team Sewer Bajaplaooza report, Stinkymatt said
"Next trip: Roller tip rod, 200 lb. spectra, wire leader." after being owned by a grouper a few times.

I guess I better inspect the crane, service the winch, and get new cable before the June 2015 trip to the island.

Brain melt time of year down there boys. Someone's going to have to save your arses...but can't do the entire week so if that's okay, put me down. P.S. no bugs in the freezer for this trip...unless Tony goes! Jim
