Did you use the abu garcia on the saltiga? Thinking of maybe picking both up and using them together?

No, I had a saltist 40 on the rod. The Abu is more of a 20lb reel, in my opinion.

Which of the carnage rods work with the ABU Garcia rod?

Either of the XL rods would work just fine. As the reel is rated 17-25lb.
You could probably get away with putting it on the ML for shallow water rock fishing, but I wouldn't go chasing 20+ lb yellowtail or wsb with it. It's more of a light-medium saltwater application reel (bass/halibut/rockfish) |
