I'd definitely go north to the AR2. Much more structure on that group. If you're not going to fish live bait I would try plastics and small yoyo jigs/plastics. If you are using live bait anchovies are the way to go out there. Really productive spot for bass. Other species I've caught there: sheepshead, cabezon, halibut, thresher sharks, rockfish, I'm sure there are a few more. There are numbers for the reef online if you google Oceanside artificial reef 2, you should see plenty of spots. The key is to stay on the structure, and I mean right on top. I like to use half screen NAV and half sonar. Working with those in unison should really help you stay on your marks. PM me if you can't find numbers online. I can give you a couple that have worked well for me.
