Chuck I made a few casts, just to see how bad it was going to be, as I had not had a fly rod in my hands in years. I had about a dozen casts and figured I've lost a lot of distance, but for Baja it should be ok. Most fish are over 10 feet deep. I would think 8 weight or better,
I am bringing an 8, a 10 and a 12. 20-30 backing, shooting line, 20-30 feet of T-14 for shooting head, floro or mono 10-40 tippet. Flies, 2-5 inches, patterns will be what you have. I will bring mostly sardina or mullet patterns in tan/white/silver, blue/white, green/white. and I will practice my casting for the next month.

Killer trip! I've seen roosters there before but none that big. Looks like El Nino is having a better effect on the northern SOC than it is down south. Nice going guys!

I was down there last September and the bay was plugged with bonito. Did you guys run into any? The 4th picture almost looks like the white bonito that you run into in the east Cape. Any whale shark sightings?

Sorry, Ross did not see any bonita, but had a small whale shark swim by. Remember we are not quite in the BAY.
