Another new member post/ Sewer report

I have been lurking BWE for about 3 months and have been fishing from my yak for about 7 and finally caught a fish I feel is worth a post.

Got to the Sewer at 6am on Sunday and caught some bait in the kelp beds inside the break wall. Loaded up on small smelt (8-10) and headed out to deeper water. The lizard fish were out in full force and stole almost all of my bait. I set out my sabiki right on a school of mackerel and was able to fill my bait tank again. Took one of the mackerel from the sabiki to my main line and about 5 min later it got slammed. I still don’t have a gaff so I fumbled around trying to get my fishgrips set, and then landed my personal best Halibut at ~31”.

Hey are you another one of those FNN guys?

Nice catch! See halibut fishing is easy!

Was it really that hard to think of a user name...?

I have only fished that area a couple of times. Can I ask where you all launch from?

I usually park in the single parking spots near the boat launch and wheel my yak to the far edge of the boat launch. Sometimes coming off the water there are a lot of boats there but its usually fine in the morning.
