Kevin, I am keeping my Outback for now but looking at the NEW Thresher. My legs are starting to give out so I will transition out of the Outback into something I can paddle easier. Once I get into a new boat, I will put the Outback on the market. Thanks for asking. See you Tuesday.

Ok Kevin, YOU have first right of refusual on the Outback, should be available mid August. The OUTBACK was MY downsize from the PA14, and it is a great boat. Saved 50 pounds in weight and lost just a little space. Lighter, easier to store and transport, good stability, worked well for me. Besides the peddling getting rougher on my legs and feet with the Hobie I want something that is better in the surf. Planning for more trips to Baja next year and do NOT want to be excluded from pacific beaches. For instance I saw some awesome areas around San Quintin, Soccoro and 3-4 others where beach launches would put you into kelp forest within 1/2 mile. Many places to explore with BAJA or BUST in the next couple of years. So now beach launching will be a priority for me.

For me, being 66 the Kraken is too heavy, beyond my capabilities to move, the Thresher 14 I can handle, and from the hull shape it should handle beach launching and landing well. Both appear to have good stability. AND I really need to be able to store rods below decks for beach work. Baja on a week plus long trip is no place to hold a garage sale. Both ARE nice well thought out fish machines with good crusing speeds and ample storage. You should be good, both should set new standards for our sport.
