Posted on other boards. It only applies to commercial fishing and not sports boats... So for now the sports fleet are fine.

If you read the bottom of the Sportfishing reports page it does mention that the catch of BF includes "Recreational" also. I'd be willing to bet there will be many PBer's getting tickets this weekend!!!
Now I'm REALLY praying for a powerful "El Niño"!

My understanding after reading many blogs/sites commercials fishing Mexican waters may have already met their 5,000 ton quotas, and to protect possible overfishing they have shut down all BF fishing for the year for everyone!

This is incorrect. Mexican letter states all bluefin fishing. I even verified with Seaforth landing. No Bluefin fishing, period.

I would not have posted if this did not include recreational fishermen. But unfortunately for us it does. Which really sucks for the guys with trips coming up. But I'm sure that they will get into some other species .
