I'll take the other side here.....
The man is making a living.......like as in paying his bills and feeding his children......never mess with a man's paycheck. Yes, it does suck that he was fishing fairly close to the kayaker but....... Kids need shoes. |

That is bull shit. If you did that to him when he's dropping or picking up his line, you would get more than a few choice words. Having that be his job is no excuse for being an ass hole and someday he might do something to someone else who is not going to tolerate it. Having courtesy should be everyones first thought or the ramifications could be life changing. People just don't think anymore and too many are just selfish.

Ahhh, Korean Pangas...gotta love'em!
The Korean writing on the boat pronounced, kuem pah. Translated means, your fishing in my spot!

If you really want to set there, come up and tell me first. Don't just set on top of me. There isn't much in the way of common courtesy with any of the boaters here. Very rare to even have one slow down for you, no matter fresh or salt, or the kind of boat, or how close they come. Just a different mentality. Only thing you can do is pick up and leave. |

Salas Big 5X cures a lot of problems like that.
Or flip some weighted Spectra across the prop, cut the line when the outboard grinds to a halt. Wish them a nice day. 좋은 하루 되세요! |

It was a jerk move on the boaters part. You did the right thing by moving. Not worth the effort or possible injury to either of you.

I'm in no way saying that the boater showed courtesy or anything....just pointing out that we are out there trying to relax they have money driving their intensity.
It's just not worth our time or stress to even get upset over this stuff. The best revenge I was able to have on a panga that set his nets right on our fishing area was to move over and pull out a pig grouper ....right in front of him! |

The lack of common courtesy prevails everywhere. Not just in Korea.

WOW
I had something simular happend to me as well. A guy came up to four of us yaking and starting setting long line right next to us. As soon as I brought a monster Cab this guy says I cant be within 500 YARDS of his lines he just set next to us. I told him very nicely with a grin Im sorry Ill just peddle in and fish from shore ok. He then replied with a smart ass coment about fish and game. I politley told him dont worry I will call fish and game for you. I pulled my phone out and dialed the Vandenberg fish and game. He then pulled lines and went somewhere else. Didnt have to yell or fight with the guy. I understand hes trying to make a living but theres a diference in bad judgment and good judgment. My opionion based off experince!
