Don't feel bad I hadn't fished for Trout in years and 2 weeks ago I go up to Silver Lake just north of Mammoth and it's like I forgot everything I used to know. I was using light enough poles and reels but the 14lb line was to visible to hook up. I forgot to bring lighter leader line. All the guys catching nice trout were using 4lb line and getting limits and good size fish. Should have bought some 4lb line at the small store to put some leaders on my pole, but Noooh I had to be stubborn and hardly caught any fish because I just though OH they can't be that picky. It pays to ask the locals and use what they tell you. Tight Lines

Going back up the mountain tomorrow AM with my family for a second go at it 😛 this time super lite gear and 4lb test! I will keep you guys updated....here we come Mr. Trout......

We didn't pull the trout on our second trip up day #1 but my boys pulled 3 cats out!!! Super cool to see my young ones land the cats on the lake ....
