1/11 my backyard

Fished the harbor before work for the third time this week. I look at it as a good morning workout at the very least It has been extremely slow fishing, with one fish saving each days from the skunk.

Todays fish was only because I had the good fortune of grabbing a white croaker/tomcod/queenfish....whatever ya call it. apparently a halibut had grabbed it, raking it's back half and it was flailing on the surface, so I grabbed it and pinned it on my dropshot......on 6#. I wondered how that would turn out. sent it down and did not take long to go bendo. Played the fish for about 10 minutes as it did not want to come off the bottom. Looked tastey, but healthy enough for a release, so back it went. Still looking for that gaffable harbor 'but. Trolled a plug all the way back to work....por nada. Doors open at 9AM.

FWIW a queenfish and a white croaker/tomcod are different fish.

Queenfish have an underbite, white croaker have an overbite, no barbels.

So, which was it! Ha. Nice pix.

Andy, I'm jealous. Nice pic. If I could start the work day like that I'd be in heaven.
