Christmas in June!

I guess it pays to be a good daughter. How awesome is this? My mom went to an auction and bought me a present. I get to fish on the Vagabond in Sept. on a 6 day trip! She got it for $500.00, valued at around $2000. I think I won the fishing lottery! It's in September and I'm already so beside myself I'm making my other half nuts!

$500 for a 6 day? That is a STEAL. I have seen 2.5 days go for $800. Not only that but in September with an el nino year. You may want to go out and buy yourself a big deep freezer.

Too bad you got suckered into that scam.

Very cool mom! That's going to be an awesome trip! With an El Nino year, I bet you'll be running into some bigger grade fish.

Nice! Start working on what gear to bring as you will need a few set-ups to handle the big ones. Great fishing boat and captain.

Strength training big time

Thanks guys. I knew you would share my excitement! I have always done some light weight lifting once or twice a week. I am boosting it a bit to include lots of back and arms!

I know you've wanted to try "Baja" fishing in spring, but things didn't work out. Now a few months later in fall, you're going in first class luxury.
I bet the fish will not be the only one that gets hooked!

Have fun, and good luck with those 100 lb. plus tuna.

Oh you got that right. Years ago, I worked in the sport fishing industry. I cooked a lot, decked a little to fill in for the tired deck hands, and I fished A LOT! I was hooked on tuna fishing then. But this will be so diifferent for me. Not only am I (much) older, but these will be bigger fish, and I have never been on 6 day range. When I say I have upped my weight lifting, I am completely serious. Even so, this should rock my little world! So looking forward to it though. Thanks for all the good wishes out there. This is a great community we have here.
