Go to OEX for Malibu products. I've had Andy at the Sunset Beach store help me out with a few things and they're really great to work with. I went to the PB store just the other day for the first time and it was pretty well stocked with just about anything that you'd need. Stay with the reputable companies and forget the fly by night places. Cheaper isn't always better...., especially if you're out in the middle of the bay and starting to take on water!

Thanks everyone for all of the tips!!! Went to OEX MB earlier today and seems like I can get a Stealth 12 or XFactor for the same price or a Stealth 14 for $300 more. I'm going to set a time to demo the 14 and xfactor and see how much I like them!
And yes, I've had a few different boats and every time I looked for one, the most important question I'd ask myself would be what kind of water I'd use it in and how well I felt I could rely on the rig getting me back to the launch every single time. I've always bought a smaller and essentially more reliable boat than a bigger, faster, and possibly "more fun" model. Getting stuck out on the water when you fish alone a lot isn't fun!!! |
