Carlsbad lagoon

Launch around 3pm fish for about 3hours 1 spottie 3 calico and 1 20inch halibut all caught on swimbait

You need to register your kayak at the Monroe pool. They do check.

Does the sticker go on one specific kayak
Or do you get the sticker and keep it on you?

I dont see how its legal to charge for the use of a public waterway. Im not going to buy a pass on top of my fishing license to use the ocean.

carlsbad lagoon permit

The cost of the passive use permit for the Carlsbad lagoons is $31.00 per year. If you use more than one kayak, you don't have to attach it, you can just carry it with you. It gives you access to both the recreation(water sking and jet skis) lagoon as well as the YMCA(middle lagoon).

Maybe it's kind of like paying to use a toll road that was built and paid for already using public money? It sucks but it's either pay now or pay the ticket later if you get caught. I think there was a thread on this a few months back.

I had the Carlsbad police boat come up to me and has never told me anything just if I had any luck
