LJ 3/25 before the rain

LJ 3/25 before the rain

Impromptu trip out to LJ yesterday to beat the incoming rain & waves... cloudy day...low swells, water at 63F.... but lots of windchop

Launched around 9:30am, met & saw half dozen yakfishermen out there, plus a few boaters/divers... not super busy but constant traffic for sure.

Made bait very quickly right after the border.... flylined a mac for hours without a hit, then got a quick rip & line popped!

Decided to try for rockfish ... found a pretty deep spot, managed 2 rockfish for dinner! here's the gratuitous fish porn!

btw, an interesting encounter with a boat diver, he came by to ask if I lost a yoyo-iron recently... intriqued by the question I implored him to tell more... apparently he was diving and saw a huge WSB donning a lip jewelry (blue/white yoyo iron)....

so to y'all BWE members who recently popped off such an iron, be glad to know that your jewelry line is being showcased in LJ underwater fashion show!

til next time!

Not always as easy as it sounds, I had to pass on a beautiful pair last weekend, couldn't get a clean shot. That wasn't me but a new iron would be an added bonus
Good luck fellas.
