LJ 10/25 Bugs & 10/27 Fish
just fed them in the tidepools at low tide ... So I finally got the kayak, nets and bait together for an evening last week when the sea was dead flat with bright moon. Managed a dozen short lobster and a spooky eel in my nets before finally getting my FIRST legal lobster. Barely legal. Wow is lobster delicious! ----------------------------- On Saturday morning I paddled out looking for rockfish and lobster bait (mackerel) and ended up fishing live 12" macs on the bottom for a bright colored barely legal lingcod and broke off another hefty one. The rockfish were shy of the plastics out there, so I went inside and spent a half-hour slaying baby goats (just kids), one barely legal, after the inspiration by Yani. I see others had the same idea. Just an fyi for everyone, the minimum length for sheephead is now 12". http://www.dfg.ca.gov/marine/mapregs...sheephead_open Larry

Larry, best part of hooping is being able to set one or more down on the kitchen floor and watch the reaction of the kids, dog and wife as it starts crawling in their direction
Pulling up just one legal will always make my night. Great haul on the bottom dwellers, fish and lobster feast!

Perfect meal
That haul makes a nice meal. Lobster is one of the only foods that tells you when it's done

Nope, that is a ling. FYI-Cabby's don't have long teeth like a ling. They have a broad boney plate with teeth more like velcro.
