Instead of marine goop, try electrical putty. No bubbles to worry about, cheep to buy, and you can take it out any time you want with no hassles.

I used the electrical putty to install my transducer, so far so good. I've carried the kayak upside down more than a dozen times and I've had no issues with the transducer slipping or moving.

Is it the tape? Does the Putty come in another form? Any specific brand?

It took me a while to find it online and now I remember why, its not called electrical putty, its called duct seal. I also recall having a tuff time finding it at Home Depot for that same reason.
