One other upgrade was that they reinforced drain / scupper holes . The newer ones have a hard plastic reinforcement that won't tear. This could happen when using beach wheels. 2014 models have a tension control knob for the rudder lines if you decide to go new.

If you're referring to a PA12 and not a PA14, the PA12 came out in 2012 and originally came with the new Vantage seat.
The PA14 has been around for a couple years more and had the old style seat from what I've reserched
