The Fishcatcher hoopin'

So Clay decided he now wanted to give hoopin' a shot.
Met up with Mr. and Mrs. Hook1, Cabo John, and his friend Ron at the super secret spot.
Armed with his OEX Sunset Beach Mini X from Andy, we launched in the dark, which was not a problem with the lad.
We set down our nets, waited a bit, pulled up a couple shorts, before the lad wanted to pull on some nets. Clay pulled up about 3 or 4, all empty dang it...
Decided to pull the nets, and try a different spot. After talking with a couple boaters who also had no luck, decided to find another spot and down went the nets.
Waiting for the bugs to crawl towards our nets, Clay and I starting counting stars. Beautiful, flat, calm night on the water. Too calm.

I look over, and Clay was dozing off....like Father like Son.
Tied up the rope on him, towed him in, got some warm dry clothes on him, and out he went in the truck....

Fun night, when I asked him if he wanted to do it again, got an enthusiastic yes....nice...
Hopefully next time, he'll pull up some bugs in his net.....

I hooped from the mini X on Friday...and it got me bug limits.
Very kewl for hoopin! I really like how you can pivot / turn on a dime to get in just the right place to pull your nets. I can't think of a better kayak to take on a bug assault. Comfy, stable & dry.
Martin, we can make a rack for your Mini me / Mini X and get the X dialed in. No worries...
