That's definitely a FOUL!!!
I got a night time whale story... About 2 years ago... was out hoop'n by myself, I just dropped my 1st or 2nd set. I paddled away from my gear to listen to some tunes and have a little snack while I was waiting for my gear to soak...I hear what sounded like the loudest belly flop I ever heard...It's not a sound you normally hear when your out on the water so it caught my attention right away. I turn my head toward my gear and in between me and the gear I see a whale launch itself almost completely out of the water and land with the loudest KA-BOOOSH!!! you ever heard...and then a few seconds later again and again...I'm freaked out at this point...that whale was too close for comfort...I head in pick up my gear and head for the barn....QUICKLY!

I just had my video analyzed, it turns out it wasn't a whale, it was Tony releasing a little gas.

Whale stories are great. I have tons from my days in Maui. The humpback whales were so thick you could walk from island to island and not get wet.
