La Jolla - Rockfeesh

Sunday, we decided to hug a spot and do some rock fishing. Hooked up on some pretty good sized sandbass, whitefish, and decent sheeps. All on frozen cut squid and dropper.

Cheers
Ash

100-200 ft, look for structure (bumps on the FF) or find some lobster buoys past the kelp. I like to drop down close, there will be fish hanging out munching on a freshly dropped trap.
Dropper loop, braid with a fluro or mono leader. Not required but it helps feel the bottom/bite. I usually do a 6 or 8oz torpedo and lift the rod tip up/down once or twice to feel the weight bounce to confirm im around hard structure. Good luck

This particular spot was 100-105ft deep, NW of the hotel. Big bump on FF. Not many lobster buoys around.

Cheers,
