June Lake... Killing it

My gf & I went to the eastern Sierra's for a few days...
Went to Convict lake, got a 2-3lb rainbow trolling rapalas.
Next day we got a late start and went to June lake. After a passing boat ran over our lines and snapped off $20 worth of lures we switched it up and fished a different location. Ended up keeping 8 good sized trout at June... caught about 14 total... don't keep what you can't eat right...

I learned something new.... getting double hookups in 15 mph winds... with a girlfriend and a 50lb dog (standard poodle) in a tandem kayak while trolling the shoreline is highly entertaining... if a little stressful.

Here's a pic of the good times!

Nice report and photo, those are some healthy trout. Congrats!

That does suck about the motor boat screwing you two on those lures.

Sounds like a good time to me. I think I too would be stressed in a tandem with another person AND a big dog. Seems like you need another yak.

Actually it works ok... my tandem is pretty big 16 1/2ft so everyone has their space. It just gets chaotic with several fish being caught
I just got an X-factor (which I have yet to take out) but that won't hold everyone comfortably. Also, I'm trying to teach my gf to fish, it's a slow process but I did get her to hold the fish for the photo!! That's progress right?!

BBQ'd a couple of them last night.. delicious. Best trout I've had in a long while...
Almost as good as salmon, meat almost as pink too!

Damn. My family and I were catching dinks in August. I really should have gone to the Sierras during the Fall.

Nice work....

Thanks for the June Lake report, those are nice sized! We hit up Gull last month for great fishing, glad the great bite up there continues.

Awesome. The late fall bite in the Sierras is where its at.

We were up there this last weekend. Saw some toads come out of June while we were there.

Thanks for the report.
