Homemade bait tank.

My buddy just picked up a really nice xfactor. He went from being very skeptical of kayak fishing to building his own bait tank in a matter of weeks.

Cool setup but speaking from experience what always works on land never seems to work on the water.

Whether it works on the water the first time doesn't matter because he'll tweak it and fine tune it later. What matters is getting excited about his new hobby and rigging up his yak for some good times.

I can tell you right now, he's stoked on kayak fishing already. The addiction.

Yea that's awesome. I remember how stoked I was when I was first rigging my yak up. It has not even been a year yet but I'm still stoked and tweaking it a little bit all the time. Make sure he is leashed up so he doesn't get de-stoked

Haha ya de-stoked from lack of leashes? Sounds like my first trip on the open ocean. Lost about 800$ worth of rods and reels . Brand new torium 30 . Saltist 40 and avet lx. All because I couldn't buy 40$ worth of leashes. And being hard headed thinking "I would never flip if I launch through a harbor"

Roger-Dodger! That was me with my first kayak; excited, stoked, happy, frustrated, pissed, happy again, mad, sad and happy again.

After all, practice makes perfect.

He might want to rethink the pump location for cleaning purposes. Especially right now with all the loose kelp floating around from lobster season.
