I use the reflective strips from harbor freight they are super sticky and I het em up a bit with a heat gun before I put me on to get the glue nice ant tacky. I've had em on there for about 3 months and they are just not starting to peel off but they are super cheap so its no big deal I fi replace em every 4 months or so.

You might try putting an electric lantern inside your hatch. Lights up the whole yak like a glow stick. Also need some blood on your vest.
