PAL Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Posts: 754	La Jolla once hosted the longest running kayak fishing tournament in the world, traditionally held the weekend after Labor Day. Running a major tournament is a lot of work; permit requirements make the logistics complicated. An informal jackpot is so much simpler.
