I wouldn't be surprised if they have a few of them to discount off. The 14 didn't sell nearly as well as the 12. When I came in two years ago the owner pretty much talked me out of buying the 14. He said it was going to be pretty hard for a guy like me to handle by myself and because of parking a trailer isn't really an option for me. I'm so glad he did... I wonder if other shops would have been that honest. Two years later I came in with cash in hand and walked out with the 12…. Good shop.

I think it's more than the fact that OEX runs this board and KFS. It's Andy's contributions to the community in terms of his (often FREE) advice here, his great fishing reports, and how he treats us in his own shop on Sunset Beach. I was looking around, and at the online sites, but ultimately, I went with Andy for my Hobie Oasis because of this board, and his patience explaining stuff to me, and he gave me a good deal. But that said, I thought this orig post was a "good craigslist deal" that was posted as a public service announcement. I didn't realize it was from another brick/mortar kayak shop.

If you did something "wrong" then i guess none of us should pass any good news on, so don't mention west marine, sports chalet, bass pro shops, rei or any good deal where they sell kayaks or accessories too!

It's not right or wrong it's just a matter of courtesy. Don't even know why its a debate. If you dont already know this site is owned and ran by oex. I consider myself a guest here and when asked by the owner to stop doing something I consider it polite to follow.

I don't want to dick-around drilling my PA, I'd rather let a professional install mine.
