Egg Drops

So I got tired of buying weights. So I decided to make my own Got my mold from bass pro. Got a 1-5 oz Egg sinker mold. So this is a open invite if you have lead I'll make you some sinkers.

Please, please, please wear an appropriate respirator! With its low melting point if it is overheated you run the risk of inhaling vaporized lead. This will affect you forever. Keep all children away while melting lead too.
I'm not trying to be an OSHA nanny, just want you to be safe and sane.

I used to make lead pyramids and bank sinkers in my basement during the early '80s when my favorite pastime was fishing for giant Catfish on the Potomac River...

Do remember to wear protective goggles, welding/heat-proof gloves, and a mask.

However, unless you get the temperature up too high, all you need to do is to melt the lead down to when it can be poured and not boiling.

The following is a good site of you need hardware for special types of jig heads. Have fun.

P.S.
I almost forgot, try to get a high grade of lead without any zinc content. Zinc makes it harder to work with. Depending on your source, you may need to filter the impurities.
