One YT "short" of a slam, LJ 7-10

Well sort of, the key word is short, hit LJ this AM, bait was easy to make, started fishing, ended up catching a 20" halibut and an 18" WSB , too bad the inches wasn't pounds...

lol lol lol

Nice Trev. Maybe we should start a contest for the smallest C&R slam.

I remember last summer there were a couple of weeks when you could slay the 20" wsb. Particularly by the twilight boats if they were anchored in LJ. Not sure if it coincidences with a hatchery release or a natural migration. Neat to see the little ones. Make a date for 30yrs hence.

They release the little guys into the bays at 10-12". When I first started kayak fishing I used to have wfo days in the fall on short wsb while calico fishing in the cardiff kelp. They were always all 18"-24" fish. Never found the bigguns.
