Lake BARRETT

Scored some tube spots for last Wednesday @ Lake Barrett. I hit up Gilbert and we were off to the lake at 3:30. Got checked in and on the water by 5:00, got to love fishin in the dark. We made our way to Hauser and started throwin the popper. The topwater bite was pretty good and we found some areas where the shad were pushed up on the bank and would get a few in the same spot. I had over 20 before 10:00 with many blow ups that didn't stick. After 10:00 the bite slowed down and we switched to cranks and drop shot for the rest of our fish and one dumb one that ate the topwater bait. Off the water at 6:00 with about 70 fish between the both of us with our biggest being just over 4#. Saw Moyer, Nic, Ty, Cory from MC and Afran on the water. It was a fun day, not the Barrett of old but still fun. Shot some video check it out.

Nice to know that kayaks are allowed there - Searching their site suggests that kayaks and private boats are not allowed, only float tubes. Tickets must be hard to get though...
