Weatherman got it right this weekend, wind was as predicted on Saturday, calmed down toward sunset. Sunday about 80 and light breeze at our back. This is the Colorado River between Needles and Havasu. I have wanted to do this for a long time. I'll post up the logistics and trip report soon.

Awesome trip Andy, had lots of fun. Something happened to my camera and I lost all the photos from the last half of the float. Here are a couple that were still on the memory card.

Great fotos and report. Ive driven over that I40 bridge so many times tovisit family in AZ and always wanted to get on the river. Just checked googlemaps satalite and the back waters and hidden lakes north of the 40 bridge look amazing. Is the fish in the second to last foto a small mouth? I didn't know they lived that far south. Mke

Yes, small mouth! That was my intended target fish. I caught a few 1/2 pounders, was hoping for one like the 4 pound LMB I caught. Those river bass love to jump!

Years ago I paddled from Blyth CA to Yuma AZ. The fishing was great, plenty of nice bass and a few cats mixed in. When the gates shut in the evenings the backwaters get cut off and you could see fish finning across the surface, it was a super cool trip.

Going in May

Taking a group of boy scouts and parents on our annual Colorado River Trip thru Topock over Mother's Day weekend. Great location and lots of fishing holes.

Nice pics, and a good trip Andy.

My Mothership

I don't really do the camping thing anymore. I do have a place and I keep this and my old outback in Fort Mohave. The Stripers are moving up the river and the smallmouth and the Red Ear are a blast on lite tackle. Next trip will be 4/27 - 4/30.
