Because of your post, I targeted Halibut for the very first time yesterday.

I even went out and bought a net.

Well on my very attempt at Halibut, I did catch the Eds little brother at about 19 inches, Glad I did buy the net.

Well no legals, But I did catch what I targeted.

It is all good.

Nice set (poker term) of fish you got there.

way to go on getting out there! i cant tell you how many times i've come up with just shorts on a hali trip. my best advice would be to do small drifts and target specific areas such as drop offs and channels. when you get a fish, short or not, do that drift over again and even run two lines on the second drift.
