It really depends on what type of fishing you want to do. I like these on a Pacifica Sabre deckhand style 8' "jig stick." (they sell them at Big 5 (around $45). Its a perfect rod for this reel to fish 20lb. Throw jigs or live bait fish, its pretty versatile and since its blue and silver, the reel matches it perfectly.

If you're interested in a combo, I have an extra one of these rods (still new/un-fished) and can setup you up with a BNIB Grandwave 20 (I checked the statsh and have 1 more I can sell) and the rod for $175 Picked Up (no shipping).

I have several of these reels. The one I posted a few days ago was BNIB and it sold shortly after it was posted. This one is the only one I have with the magnetic casting sideplate. It is currently pending sale right now...

Might have 1 more (gotta check the stash) BNIB Grandwave 20 available if you're interested.
