La Jolla Halibut
Second time out on my Outback; what an upgrade! The three of us launched around 6:30 am to a small surf. A couple of hours in, with the help of the brothers I landed a 30lb Halibut (on a home scale). The fish was caught in ~120 ft of water on a dead squid. Back to the shore around 2:30 pm and chatted with the good folks. Nice day on the water. Filmed by the middle-bro and I. The bigbro is in charge of the editing magic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSGYz...kaklW1jwzRJodQ Iced and filleted the fish; had the first batch today using an Italian recipe-quick and tasty (the picture). Cheers! |

Very, nice toad. Your hat matching your underwear was just a coincidence, right?

wow, that is a very nice fish! I was thinking it would "erupt" and knock you off your kayak. I am still wary of big halibut, as I hear they go berserk when gaffed. But I haven't gotten a large one yet on kayak...... maybe soon?
Also, great music! Who is the artist??? Looks like a beautiful day and an excellent meal! |
