Another gopro mounting idea

So, the recent purchase of my HDS5 took away my ability to mount my gopro in the sail mast like I originally had. So, I was looking for a different way to do it. I started rumaging the garage trying to find some ideas without having to go to the store, and I realized I have an alarming amount of spare scotty stuff. I decided to make use of some it.

I took the Gopro Tripod Mount that came in my grab bag of mounts and I attached it to a Scotty Extender using a 3/4" long 1/2" x 20 stainless hex bolt, which fit snug as a bug.

After that, it might take a few of the joined mounts to get it facing the way you want but the nice thing is you can put a scotty mount pretty much anywhere you want to. I think I'm going to try putting one on the back of my PA seat looking over the shoulder. I also like it because the sticky mounts are unreliable.

Tripod mount

That GoPro Tripod mount is the best...I attach a camera type c-clamp to the mount then clamp on to the gaff for some cool shots...I also have a 12' telescopic painters pole with a 1/4" 20 bolt on the end to attach the tripod mount/camera. It is great for yak to yak shots or high overhead shots or under water shots too. The seals hate it.
