I agree. It looks like some thought went into this but i don't think it was meant to be put through the abuse gear takes on a kayak. If it only reads up to 26lbs it means that its probably not made to gaff a 40lb wsb or a 30lb yt. What do you do then?

Glad you guys are pointing this out I was thinking about getting one to try out but now I don't know if it is worth the risk

goes up to 26lbs huh.... very nice for most fish, but will the scale max out and break if i'm trying to yank a 40# fish on the yak?

I dont know how the guts of it is set up. But the best way to test it is put it on a puller and see where it breaks at?

Everybody pool up the $24+ and somebody put it to the test...I'd pay a buck or two to find out.
