6/18 - A Lindsey Lowhan kind of day...
SLOPPY: close interval swells, breezy, overcast, and generally choppy. HOT: hot bite (for a while)... one 34" hali, one 36" hali, one 24" (C&R), and a few brown rockfish (C&R). Left 'em biting when I went in... the 34" the 36"

Very nice, but what is that peddle Halibut beating aparatus in the first photo, and where did you buy it? WTG on leaving what you don't need and giving others a chance at their dreams. That 36 incher you released may make someones year.
Oops, thought you said you kept the 34 and released the others. Any legals released can make someone else's day though. Last edited by GregAndrew; 06-19-2012 at 05:42 PM. Reason: Still learning to read. |

Yesterday the 18th
NICE! I actually drove onto the beach at LJ around 6 hoping to meet up with a few here. That wind was ripping pretty good and definately not optimal for launching a PA. So when the others were not in sight I decided to call it & headed for Shelter Island and the Bay.
I hit the bait barge, breezed Cabrillo for a bit and then a couple of spots that have been good to me in the past & came up empty handed. I Had some fun with the Sentry boat for one of the DDG's that pulled into the de-gausing pier (William P. Lawrence DDG-110), and ended up getting a "Good Luck Chief, hope you catch some big ones" from them. It was a rather unusual a slow day for me in the bay with my total count being a few short hali's, 3 Sand Bass, a Fattie Spottie and a dogish (all released). I still ended up going home with a smile on my face, feeling thankful for being blessed with another peaceful day on the water Last edited by Chief Gunner; 06-19-2012 at 07:41 PM. |

Whew! I thought I was gonna read a story about how you wrecked your car, was found passed out somewhere, got thrown in jail for intoxication, or all three.
Glad you caught some nice fish. |
