making bait

Last week i went to lj and all i could catch for bait was these mullet looking bait fish. The past three times before that i had no problem with macs and sardines. Any pointers?

Bait fish move around just like other fish do. Keep moving and looking. Try different depths or closer or farther from the kelp. Bigger or smaller sabikis can make a difference. A FF is very helpful. Some guys like to put a croc or shiney wieght to help attract bait. And some times they're just hard to catch. Mike
